Rain, Snow and Rainbows?

Yesterday was the wierdest weather day that I have seen in a very long time.  Logan and I drove up to Tacoma and passed through some crazy rain storms, and some beautiful spots of sunshine.  While we were inside the grocery store, thunder rocked the store so bad, I nearly jumped out of my skin!  As we were getting back on the freeway, the traffic was moving really slowly.  The reason.... a snow storm, yes I just said SNOW STORM, had just passed through, and people were gawking at all the snow on the ground.  Well, not exactly on the ground.  Because of all the rain storms earlier in the day, this one part of the freeway was flooded, and the snow was floating on top of all the water.  The water was up to my door, in my Blazer.  Crazy!  Mother Nature was in some sort of mood!  I finally made it home, but had to drive back to town a few hours later.  It was still raining, but this is what was guiding me into town.

 

I took this with my iPhone.  There was another rainbow, just to the left of this one.  It was very cool.  By the time I got into Olympia, the rainbow looked like it was coming out of the top of the Capital Building.  Just gorgeous.  It made up for all the wierdness earlier that day.

I have a few plans this weekend.  I am teaching at Scrap That! on Saturday morning, then I'm going to sort through some of my Christmas ornaments and decorations.  I'm trying to get it the Christmas spirit a little early.  On Sunday, Cindy is coming over to play in the Studio.  I hope to finish a "Thankful" banner that I am working on.  Have a wonderful weekend, see you soon!

ScrapTiffany Design Team Call

I am looking for a few good scrappers to be part of the next, ScrapTiffany Design Team!  The ScrapTiffany Blog will have Weekly Challenges that DT members will participate in.

~There are several positions up for grabs and I welcome applications from everyone, International scrappers too!

This will be a 6 month position, to start on January 1, 2010 and runs through June 30, 2010.

***All Submissions  must be in by Midnight, (Pacific Standard Time) Wednesday November 25th, 2009.  The Design Team will be notified via e-mail by December 3rd. 

If you've never been on a design team before, that's OK!  Just take the plunge, dive right in and submit your application.  I'm looking for some scrappers with a variety of interests, styles and personalities.  It may be you!

E-mail the following information to Tiffany@ScrapTiffany.com with Design Team Call in the subject line.

1.    Name, Address and Photo of yourself.  I want to get to know each person as I am looking at their applications and galleries.
2.   A little information about you, who you are, and how long you have been scrapping. 
3.   Are you a part of any online communities? (2peas, etc.)  If so, please list those websites, as       well as your username.
4.    Do you have a Blog?  If so, please give the address.
5.    Do you currently Design for anyone?  Who?  Any past Design Teams?
6.    Include Photos of the following:
    ~4 Layouts
    ~1 Altered Project
*These projects do not need to be new, but they should show your Current Scrapbooking Style.
If you are selected to be a part of ScrapTiffany's Design Team, your responsibilities include:
~Joining in on the Weekly Challenges, One Layout, Altered Project or Card per week.
~Actively promote ScrapTiffany on your blog and any other websites where rules allow.
~Take well photographed pictures of your layouts, as well as closer images of details when possible.

It's a Boy!!

Hollister Quinn Carlos Puentes

He was 6 pounds 15 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.

Proud Mama, my Cousin Nikki.

 

 

This makes Great Grand Baby number 5 for Great Grandpa Rudy.

Week 18 Challenge!

Lace.  I love lace!  There are so many different kinds.  There is Edge lace, Galloon lace, Venetian lace, Novelty lace, Ruffled lace, Eyelet lace....and so many more!  They come in so many colors and textures, and really can add so much to your layouts and projects.  Show us what you can do with lace, and you could win a chance to be our one of our Guest Designers for the month of December.  Here is some beautiful work from our DT.

Meet this months Guest Designer....

Sarah Eclavea!

My name is Sarah and I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years. I live in Chicago, IL with my husband Ron and 10 month old daughter Frances. I love to scrapbook Frances and she is the subject of most of my layouts. I tend to use a lot of pink and create projects that are fun and cute. I am also a high school Biology teacher and love to run and cook. I can't wait to play along with the challenges.

 

~Five Random facts about me~

 

1. My favorite drink is a Chai Latte from starbucks.

 

2. I  hate scary movies. I just get too scared.

 

3. I have three dauchshunds that I adopted from a rescue- Ginger, Bacon and Kody. I didn't name any of them.

 

4. I love to go to bed early. Some nights I go to bed as early as 8pm.

 

5. I am addicted to potato chips of any kind. If I start eating them I will eat the whole bag.

Thanks for playing along this week!

I have a busy day today.  I am volunteering at Logan's Halloween carnival at school.  I baked about 7 dozen cookies last night for the "Cookie walk."  I remember my school carnivals when I was in elementary school.  I so looked forward to going every year.  My favorite part was the cake walk.  It was so exciting when you won the game, and you got to go pick out your very own cake.  Ahhh...good times.

 

I love Halloween.  I used to make all the kids costumes, and we always spend HOURS trick or Treating as a family.  This year, no homemade costumes.  I don't even know what I'm going to wear to the costume party tonight.  I have a great witches hat, I guess I have to work around that.  We'll see what I come up with.  Have a great weekend!
