This weeks challenge, was quite a Challenge for me! The theme for the week is "What was I thinking....when I bought these scrapbook supplies! The reason I came up with this, I had these awful transparencies and matching epoxy stickers, and I didn't have the heart to throw them out. And in my defense, I don't think I bought them, I think they may have been a giveaway at CKU, or some other past scrap event. So I ATTEMPTED to do two different layouts with these products, and they were both horrible, so I had to move on to something else. More on that later.. Send us your layouts and you'll have a chance to win our August Kit. E-mail them to [email protected]
Here is what our Fabulous Designers came up with!
I’m not sure that I am embarrassed that I bought them --- but I have had them for 4 years and never used them! They are adhesive textile canvas squares from Technique Tuesday!
The item that I can't believe I bought is the shaker tag. This was on the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby & I thought that I needed it. I had no idea what I thought I was going to do with it! For this challenge I inked the flower, added a different color button to the center and added rub-ons to the tag itself. It actually doesn't look too bad!
I actually don't have a lot of hideous product around because I am fortunate enough to live super close to a LSS that does a yard sale twice a year, but I bought some papers a long time ago for a mini album I made about my honeymoon to Kauai. I had 2 papers I never used and there is really no way I would use them for anything else. I really only bought them because them seemed Hawaii-ish, not because I really liked them. So, I used the tried and true techniques for dealing with sort of unappealing papers. I layered a lot so they are not the main focus of the LO and I swiped pearl paint on the white and blue piece to tone it down. And the large flowers actually did sort of coordinate with my daughter's dress.
This one is so funny, no explanation needed. (and I bought two sets of these!)
